America's First National Park

Montana serves as a gateway to Yellowstone National Park with three distinct entrances, each offering a unique experience. The North Entrance, near the town of Gardiner, welcomes visitors through the iconic Roosevelt Arch, providing access to the Mammoth Hot Springs and the park's headquarters. The Northeast Entrance, located at the historic town of Cooke City, offers a scenic route through the picturesque Lamar Valley, renowned for its wildlife sightings. Finally, the West Entrance, near the town of West Yellowstone, Montana, provides convenient access to the popular Old Faithful area and the park's extensive geyser basins.

"The establishment of the National Park Service is justified by considerations of good administration, of the value of natural beauty as a National asset, and of the effectiveness of outdoor life and recreation in the production of good citizenship."
